Dolly Diamond was captivating from the moment she entered the stage, dressed in a sparkling black dress, she sang Love Is In The Air and encouraged the audience to sing along and have fun. Dolly was sassy and as sharp as a razor, and her comedic chops were evident as she talked to the performers on the panel as well as the audience. The classic show Bl*nkety Bl*nks was re-created with a live setting, and Dolly had a number of different fringe performers on the panel, including the lovely Zach Zucker and Josh Blanc. She got two audience members up onto the stage, and she would ask them to fill in the blanks of a statement, and the panel would have to guess what their response was.
What made this interpretation of Bl*nkety Bl*nks particularly amusing was that there was a huge group of elderly women, part of a red hatters group for older ladies to go out and have fun. Dolly had actually met the group at another event, and they took a liking to her, so they made her an honorary member of their clan. She also chose one of the red hatters to be a contestant in the show, and this added to the hilarity due to the often rude responses/questions that the lady had to talk about. The panel also had a great deal of fun, sometimes luckily guessing the audience members responses correctly!
Dolly's wonderful stage presence and comedic delivery, as well as the panel and audience members made the show a fun time, and I'm glad I checked this show out.
Four stars.
