Devil’s Advocate was hosted at Drama Llama at Adelaide’s Rhino Room – an awesome location for disco and retro party nights. The show starred James McCann and Corey White with an interesting premise: audience members entering the venue were instructed to write down indefensible statements on a small piece of paper and place it into a hat. The statements were then drawn out of the hat at random by White and read out to McCann while he would be required to defend the indefensible statements.
Whilst it was mainly a one-man show, the comedy was brilliantly improvised by McCann as he tackled various strange, amusing, controversial and outright offensive/non-politically correct statements where no topic was off-limits. Along with the audience, I found myself thoroughly entertained throughout the 75 minute show.
