The Koto Music Concert - "Shiki" was performed by Etsuko Kawaguchi, and it was a wonderful experience. A koto is a 13 stringed Japanese lute, but the strings can be both plucked and beaten to create an array of stunning and unique sounds.

The performance took the audience through the 4 seasons of Japan, with each song having its own distinctive theme and sound. It was a very immersive experience, I almost thought that I had been transported to Japan when I closed my eyes! Throughout the performance, Kawaguchi would occasionally sing, adding an extra layer of personality to the show. Her melodies were haunting yet beautiful, and the show was serene and peaceful, a nice rest from the hustle and bustle of the festival season.

Overall, "Shiki" was an excellent performance, and I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for future shows by Etsuko Kawaguchi.
