Laura Desmond tackled some very confronting issues regarding sexual assault in her show, socially [un]acceptable. The show was brutally unflinching, as Desmond described her own experiences with sexual assault, as well as the problems with numerous societal norms regarding consent. One of the key questions that Desmond asked throughout the performance, was how many times does someone have to say no, before it is made clear that you don't consent.

Desmond also addressed other behaviors that demonstrated a lack of consent, moving away, crying, and body language. She also touched on emotional manipulation in regards to her experiences, and re-iterated the importance of consent with a long-term partner. Overall, Desmond's performance was powerful and incredibly moving, and I would most definitely recommend the show.
